Types of Art Offered by Midair Studio
Fine Art Prints
Fine art prints are reproductions that form any number of exact copies. Prints are created using a variety of printing methods. Some methods yield great numbers of prints, others generate a small number of reproductions. Many printing techniques are available to the artist to reproduce their creations. Midair Studio prints are created on various weights and types of paper. Prints are reproduced using offset reproduction techniques (printing press), stone lithography (hand drawn techniques on a flat stone, transferred to paper by offset lithography), giclée (inkjet printing), or serigraphy (screen printing).
Limited Edition Prints
A limited edition print is a subcategory of the fine art print that has a limited number of reproductions. Many limited editions are under 5,000 reproductions. Most editions are signed by the artist and sequentially numbered (25/500, 25th print out of an edition 500). The artist's aesthetic criteria must be satisfied before signing each print. All prints should match the artist's proof print.
